Position: Financial Director
Duties: TAIE is looking for an experienced financial director. TAIE is a private boarding school, located in the heart of downtown Toronto. We offer a top-quality educational environment and a rich urban setting to our students. As our organization continues to succeed, we require an experienced individual to manage all the financial aspects of our business. The position will involve:

Develop and put in place company financial practices and procedures.

Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and other financial documents and reports.

Coordinate and participate in the Company financial planning/budgeting process.

Act as liaison between the company and its external financial service providers.

Evaluate financial and accounting procedures and financial controls to determine their effectiveness and efficiency and make recommendations for improvement.

Recruit and manage staff.

Monitor ongoing financial status of the company and ensure management is kept appraised of financial trends and/or areas of concern.

Supervise other staff working in a financial role for the company and serve as the senior member of financial staff.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce or other related filed required
-
Minimum 5-10 years working in a financial role required
-
Minimum 5 years in a senior financial role involving supervision of staff and responsibility for financial planning and reporting required

Experience or qualifications in accounting would be considered an asset
-
Minimum 2 years liaising with company management in a financial capacity required
-
Experience designing and implementing financial control and reporting systems an asset
Term of Employment: This is a full-time and permanent position, the role requires working 35 hours a week, usually Monday to Friday. Occasional work on weekends may be required. Occasional business travel may be required.
Wages and Benefits: Wage will be commensurate with qualification and experience within a range of $53 - $57 per hour. Employees may choose to receive health and dental benefits by participating in the company’s group benefit plan.
Location: The location of work for this position will be at our school location of 399 Church St, Toronto, Ontario.
